HOW MANN MET GURPREET
She came in contact with 48-year-old Mann’s family one-and-a-half years ago. Reportedly, Mann’s mother and sister chose the bride. According to sources, Gurpreet’s family didn’t want her to enter politics till she got married. The wedlock will probably open her doors to enter politics.
One thing which excites the doctor about Mann is his courageous and daring decisions for the state, said Mann. Dr Gurpreet is fond of Mann’s stand-up comedy too.
THE TURNING POINT
The journey which started from the village Satauj in Sangrur was not easy for Bhagwant Singh Mann, who became a celebrity at the age of 17. He was just seven years old when he lost his brother due to cancer. Mann was into stand-up comedy for many years before he entered politics in 2011-2012. He joined Manpreet Singh Badal and his party, PPP. He lost elections and then he contested for the Lok Sabha seat in 2014. That election was the turning point of his life. Before the elections, he promised his ex-wife Inderjeet Kaur, that if he lost, he would move to the USA with his entire family as per his wife, Inderjeet’s wish. But fate had something else to offer Mann.
He won the election, but his relationship with his wife deteriorated. One fine day, Bhagwant Singh Mann made an announcement that he was getting divorced. He gave all his property and money to his ex-wife and children. Mann lost his father around the time of his divorce.
With Bhagwant Mann starting his new innings, congratulatory messages started pouring in. India Today Group also wished him luck with his new beginning.
